At Initial Bookkeeping, I am a firm believer that no two businesses are alike even if they offer the same products or services. What makes each business unique is derived from the owner's missions, values and visions for their company in the current state and into the future. I truly believe these owners go into business to do what they do best, which results in the highest rate of return for their time and energy. 


In the early phase of running a business, the owner puts on many hats in the areas of marketing, human resources, bookkeeping, and administrative responsibilities. But as the business grows, they shift their primary focus on growth and seldom have time to take care of the other functional areas of their business. For example, weekly bookkeeping administrations take months to complete. By not having up-to-date financial information, disastrous consequences can happen. For example: Is the growth in operations profitable? Are the accounts receivable collected on time? Is the bill (accounts payable) paid on time? Is cash flow healthy? And many more. 


Finance is an essential and critical tool to help owners understand the pulse of their business and its operations. Without this comprehensive financial information prepared on a timely and accurate basis, the owner is not able to understand the situation and make informed decisions to give them that competitive advantage.

These few simple words depict the most crucial fundamental goal in relationship building between a bookkeeper and their client. Most bookkeepers in the industry can accomplish the bookkeeping work itself, but the ones that listen, take the time to understand the client's business and come up with a solution that caters to them, creates actual value.
